WS: Exotic Places

exotic-indiaNamaste. Time for a spread in my altered book, made for the new WS Exotic Places challenge. Still haven’t been to India yet, but it’s on top of my travel wish list. I tried to be exotic (amidst last week’s snowflakes hehe) and used Indian printing blocks (handcarved wooden stamps) in the background, Goddess Lakshmi (the auspicious goddess of wealth and fortune, whether it is material or spiritual. The word ”Lakshmi” has been derived from the Sanskrit word Lakshay, meaning “aim” or ”goal”. Goddess Lakshmi suggests the aim of life, which includes all worldly and spiritual success.), lotus, painted elephants (since I love elephants) and an Indian classic dancer? If that’s not exotic!! Oh well, one day …

Namaste.

  21. Stunning – such beautiful colours and images.

  22. Love the page in your book such exotic colours. I have some of the wooden print blocks including one of an elephant, it’s gorgeous. If you get those foam blue blocks that you can heat, you can press the wooden blocks into them and you have the design in the negative.

  23. This is really gorgeous !! Love the red background (India’s Favourite colour) ! Love the elephants ~~ and how you doodle on it. Cool !!
