3 little birds

I like this song and it fits well to the Wednesday Stamper “Birds” theme …

LYRICS- Put your Records On

by Corinne Bailey Rae

Three little birds, sat on my window.
And they told me I don’t need to worry.
Summer came like cinnamon
So sweet,
Little girls double-dutch on the concrete.

Maybe sometimes, we got it wrong, but it’s alright
The more things seem to change,
the more they stay the same

Oh, don’t you hesitate.

Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down Sapphire and faded jeans,
I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.
You’re gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow.

Blue as the sky, sombre and lonely,
Sipping tea in the bar by the road side, (just relax, just relax) Don’t you let those other boys fool you,
Gotta love that afro hairdo.

Maybe sometimes, we feel afraid, but it’s alright
The more you stay the same, the more they seem to change. Don’t you think it’s strange?

Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down Sapphire and faded jeans,
I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.
You’re gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow.

Just more than I could take, pity for pity’s sake
Some nights kept me awake,
I thought that I was stronger
When you gonna realise,
that you don’t even have to try any longer.
Do what you want to.

Girl, put your records on,
tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down Sapphire and faded jeans,
I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.
(2X)

Oh, You’re gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow

  1. Nice, sweet song…never heard it before but it gives you a feeling of happiness and relaxation! Such a nice change from all that “downer” music one hears nowadays on the radio…thanks for sharing it!

  3. Belinda!!
I love Corinne; I saw her sing one night late on TV and literally stalked itunes until it came out; I searched record shops high and low and was in heaven when I finally got her cd. Her first hit in London was Like a star. Have you heard the other songs on the album. ABSOLUTELY FABBBB! Thanks for highlighting the lyrics of her summer hit which is just so playful.

  4. i guess with “fall” finally hitting luxembourg and germany, this little song brings back some chillin’ summer moments!! feel the sunshine on my face … i just love the video. it’s grey, dreary and even raining this morning. so i’ll play it again. yes tina, the cd is extra special! really relaxing style. my music taste is veeeery wide though 🙂
