Halloween did it to me and I’m really enjoying the purple-black combo. AND the Stampotique/Penney-Torrente images. Last month I found these purple glass ornaments with a wonderful velvet embossing at my local Auchan (supermarket) and I knew I wanted to prep up my black baroque thingies from the past years with purple. Been having GREAT fun I must say. And know I need to get a Bernina, my Singer is testing my patience big time! Dinner table now turned into painting and stitching table. Oh, recognize the Inkadinkado damask stamp? It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas tralala …

Patty will wissen, woran ich bei der Zahl DREI für die neue MS-Herausforderung denke. HA! an  die drei Baumanhänger, gemacht für meinen diesjährigen Gothic Weihnachtsbaum, und einige werden noch folgen. Halloween ist an allem Schuld und mir gefällt total die Lila-Schwarz-Kombi. UND natürlich die Stampotique/Penney-Torrente Motive. Hab letzten Monat diese lila Glaskugeln im hiesigen Auchan (Supermarkt) gefunden und mag total die samtigen Ornamente drauf. Wollte meine vergangenen schwarzen Barokteile mit Lila aufpeppen. Macht VOLL Spaß muß ich sagen. Allerdings weiß ich auch, dass ich mir eine Bernina kaufen werde, meine olle Singer stellt meine Geduld mehr als auf die Probe! Wohnzimmertisch ist nun umfunktioniert zu einem Mal- und Nähtisch. Oh, ist Dir auch der Inkadinkado Damask-Stempel aufgefallen? It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas tralala …

This has been a tough one and at first I thought I wouldn’t play in this month’s GPP crusade What’s your sign. Nobody came to my mind with a specific sign. But then I thought how about making a journal page about a sign or two I love and keep using? First thing was FLOWERS that came to my mind. Really treasure and enjoy them, every single day. My 12 hole Dr. Martens with the red roses embroidery look like a cool tattoo and I just love wearing them. My favorite boots and winter accessory. And somehow the right side evolved - SKULLS. Just went to an awesome Shinedown concert the other night and the skull reminds me of my beloved rock music. Twisted the challenge a bit, but am happy with my journal spread.

Das war diesmal eine schwierige GPP crusade Was ist Dein Zeichen und dachte, ich könnte nicht mitmachen. Kenne niemand, der ein eigenes Zeichen hat, ich selbst auch nicht. Doch dann dachte ich, warum machst Du keinen Journaleintrag darüber, was mir gefällt. Denn sofort fielen mir  BLUMEN ein. Mag  total gerne meine 12-Loch Dr. Martens mit den roten Rosen-Stickereien. Sieht aus wie ein cooles Tattoo und trag sie sehr gerne, total bequem sind sie. Meine liebsten Stiefel und Winteraccessoire. Irgendwie kam die echte Seite automatisch – TOTENKÖPFE. War gerade auf einem tollen Shinedown -Konzert und der Totenkopf erinnert mich an meine geliebte Rockmusik. Hab die Herausforderung etwas variiert, bin aber total froh mit meiner Doppelseite.

Isn’t life more fun when things coincidentally fit together? November 11 at 11.11 am marks the beginning of carnival in Germany. A perfect day to start a Zettiology challenge on the WednesdayStamper blog. And a good opportunity for me to finish my journal spread about the Bad Aibling retreat Manja so beautifully organized at Karola’s hotel. Karola always spoils us there and I had a wonderful time. Every participant willingly shares techniques, inspiration, thoughts, warmth … and a glass of Rotkäppchen! And I dig the wellness area, need to hang out there every time.

Ist schon toll, wenn Dinge zufällig aufeinanderfallen, oder? Am 11.11. beginnt ja um 11.11 Uhr in Deutschland Fastnacht. Ein idealer Tag, eine  Zettiology -Herausforderung auf dem Mittwochstemplerblog zu starten. Und der ideale Anlaß, meine Doppelseite über das lange Wochenende in Bad Aibling fertigzustellen, den Manja so prima in Karola’s Hotel organisiert hat. Karola verwöhnt uns immer und ich hatte eine wunderschöne Zeit. Jede Teilnehmerin teile gerne Techniken, Inspirationen, Gedanken, Wärme … und ein Gläschen! Und ich stehe auch total auf den Wellnessbereich, wie könnte ich mir den entgehen lassen.

I love my Javana Texi Mäx opaque T-shirt makers. Unfortunately they only come with a regular tip, but they are so opaque and write beautifully over paper and my acrylic paint. Well worth the investment.

Bin begeistert von meinen Javana Texi Mäx opak T-shirt-Stiften. Es gibt sie leider nur in einer normalen Breite, doch die Dinger schreiben so blickdich klasse auf Papier und meiner Acrylfarbe. Anschaffung lohnte sich!

Another coincidence, Teesha Moore with the help of  husband Tracy just started sharing videos on her blog and You Tube about her cool visual journaling process. Fun to watch and ever so generous. Timing könnte nicht besser sein, denn Teesha Moore zeigt mit Hilfe ihres Mannes Tracy Videos auf ihrem Blog und You Tube a über ihren tollen visual journaling Prozeß. Macht Spaß zuzuschauen. Auf ihrem Blog hier zeigt sie auch ihr Journaing-Zubehör. Immer interessant zu sehen, was Andere benutzen. Unten ist ein kleiner Vorgeschmack.

Thought I’d use the funky collage gals from Teesha Moore doing the Harajuku Style for this week’s WS Asia challenge. Gave them new heads though and used a Stampotique stamp for one. These girls  fit perfectly the challenge and my journaling about the fun long weekend I spent end of October with gals from the Munich stamping group going definitely mixed-media in Bad Aibling. 
Dachte mir, dass ich die coolen Collage-Mädels im Harajuku-Stil von Teesha Moore für  Asia-MS-Herausforderung diese Woche verwende. Hab ihnen allerdings neue Gesichter gegeben, für eins hab ich einen Stampotiquestempel verwendet. Die Mädels passen prima zur Herausforderung und und meinen Journalseiten über ein tolles laaanges Wochenende mit einigen Münchner Stammtischmädels, das wir Ende Oktober mal wieder in Bad Aibling verbrachten.

Harajuku Fashion

Harajuku is a train station in Tokyo. Harajuku style today describes a fashion style seen from across the railway tracks from Harajuku station to Yoyogi Park. Tokyo’s teenagers wear everything from British street punk fashion of the 70’s, goth and many other ethnic and trendy fashions from around the globe.
Harajuku ist ein Bahnhof in Tokio. Harajuku-Stil beschreibt heute eine Mode, die man dort sieht, von den Bahngleisen des Harajuku Bahnhofs bis zum Yoyogi Park. Tokio’s Teenagers zeigen alles, vom Britischen Straßenpunk der 70′er, Goths und viele andere ethnische und trendy Mode vom ganzen Globus.

Gothic Lolitas can be sexy or cute

Click on over to Harajuku Style and you’ll discover subgroups such as Gothic Lolita (also gothic loli) Visual Kei, Ganguro, Gyaru, Kogal, to “cute” Kawaii style clothing. Too funky and funny, definitely brings a smile on my face. And the teenies seem to have fun with it.
Klick rüber zu Harajuku Style und Du wirst Untergruppen wie Gothic Lolita (oder auch Gothic Loli) Visual Kei, Ganguro, Gyaru, Kogal, bis zum “niedlichen” Kawaii-Stil. Total schräg und lustig, bringt mich auf jeden Fall zum Schmunzeln. Und die Teenies scheinen Spaß dabei zu haben.

A tale of dark Halloweenish Burtonesque Haute Couture is to be published by Harpers Bazaar in anticipation of the Tim Burton Retrospective showing at New York’s MoMa from 22 November 20o9 thru 26 April 2010. I suppose everybody is deliciously looking forward to Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland movie to be released world-wide on 5 March 2010 (mark your calendars!). Tim Walker’s photographs are eerie enchanting, the perfect motives for my GPP crusade post – Come over to the dark side! Made a dark journal spread – left is “The new Black Alice” and “Waiting for Tim Burton“. The journaling on the right side was done with a purple paint pen and doesn’t show on the scan. Thanks Michelle for yet another cool challenge. Right up my alley! 

Die Geschichte von düsterer halloweenischer Burtonesque Haute Couture wird demnächst im Harpers Bazaar in freudiger Erwartung von Tim Burton Retrospective veröffentlicht (hoffentlich auch in Deutschland!!), die in New York’s MoMa vom 22. November 20o9 bis 26. April 2010 läuft. Ich vermute, jeder freut sich auf  Tim Burton’s Alice im Wonderland-Film , der weltweit am 5. March 2010 anlaufen wird (im Kalender vormerken!). Tim Walker’s Photographien sind schaurig verzaubernd, ideal für meinen GPP crusade Beitrag – Komm rüber auf die düstere Seite! Hab eine Doppelseite in meinem Journal gemacht. Links ist ”The new Black Alice” und rechts “Warten auf Tim Burton“. Mein Text auf der rechten Seite hab ich mit einem lila Acrylschreiber geschrieben, aber sieht man nicht auf dem Scan. Danke Michelle für eine weitere cool Herausforderung. So ganz mein Ding!  

EDIT: The fabulous Burton article was published in the US Harper’s Bazaar  October 2009 issue. The issue I found here in Luxembourg has Janet Jackson on the cover. *** Der tolle Burton-Artikel wurde in der US-Ausgabe von Harper’s Bazaar Oktober 2009 veröffentlicht. Die Ausgabe, die ich in Luxemburg fand hatte Janet Jackson auf dem Cover.

And to top it all off, Disney started a huge and oh so clever fashion and jewelry marketing campaign entitled Alice is the new black! Very clever I must say, me likes! 
Um dem noch eins drauf zu setzen hat Disney eine Riesen Mode- und Schmuck-Marketingkampagne gestartet, die sie Alice ist das neue Schwarz nennen. Sehr clever, gefällt mir!
