Inspired by a recent Metallica concert at Stuttgart’s sold out Schlever-Halle I picked ROCK’N ROLL as this week’s WS challengeand made a page in my journal. I know, they are heavy stuff, but it was one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. Had an awesome time together with Manja. Below is a live-version I filmed of their most famous rock balad – Nothing else matters!
Inspiriert von einem kürzlichen Metallica-Koncert in der ausverkauften Schleyer-Halle hab ich ROCK’N ROLL für die MS-Herausforderung diese Woche ausgesucht und eine Journalseite gemacht. Weiß schon, die sind echt heavy, aber es war eins der besten Konzerte, auf denen ich war. Hatte eine super Zeit zusammen mit Manja.Unten ein live-Mitschnitt von mir mit ihrer bekanntesten Rockbalade – Nothing else matters!
Simply brilliant, such a rocking event!! With the stage in the middle it felt like a real amphitheater event and everybody had a great view. The boys kept moving around making sure someone was always standing on either side. No chance to remain seated on your chair … they rocked the stage and made everyone move. Opted for James Hetfield (lead singer) in my journal page. Had so mach fun and we already look forward to next time. Rock on!
Einfach nur genial, da ging sowas von die Post ab!! Die Bühne in der Mitte machte daraus ein richtiges Amphitheater-Spektakel und jeder hatte einen super Blick auf die Bühne. Durch regelmäßigen Seitenwechsel stand immer einer der Kerle auf unserer Seite. Keine Chance, auf dem Stuhl sitzen zu bleiben … die haben die Bühne gerockt und rissen alle von den Stühlen. Hab mich für ein Foto mit James Hetfield (Sänger) für meine Journalseite entschieden Hatte riesigen Spaß gemacht, wir freuen uns schon auf das nächste Mal. Rock on!
Tina made a sweet fabric pocket book for our rr and used Kaffe Fassettfabrics almost everywhere. So you can imagine the colorful and whimsy play on the pages – circles galore! Finally managed to add my touches. It’s a sweet little book now ressembling more a sculpture, filled to the rim with fiber and mixed-media luv. Helga challenges us this week to make a valentine, so I thought I’ll make another thing for the pocket, a heart she could hang anywhere. L’artiste stamp from Stampers Anon. For the heart, I stamped handwritten text onto paper, painted it with beige and glued it behind the woman transparency with UHU glue stick.
Tina hat ein süßes Stoffbüchlein mit Taschen für unseren RR gemacht und dabei Kaffe Kassett-Stoffe fast überall verwendet. Kannst an dieser Doppelseite sehen, wie bunt es ist und verspielt mit all den Kreisen etc. Hab meine Seite endlich gemacht. Das Buch ähnelt mehr einer Skulptur, da die Seiten gefüllt mit Fäden und Mixed-Media-Herzlichkeit. Helga fordert und diese Woche auf einen Valentinsgruß zu machen, hab mich dann entschlossen, noch etwas für die Tasche zu machen, dass sie aber überall hinhängen kann. L’artiste-Stempel von Stampers Anon. Für das Herz hab ich einen handgeschriebenen Textstempel auf Papier gedruckt und diesen anschließend mit beiger Acrylfarbe übermalt und mit UHU-Stift hinter die Frau auf Transparentfolie geklebt.
A few weeks ago I bought this black-white ceramic bowl , I just loved the patte rn, especially the sunny spirals in the middle. Helga has a brilliant challenge up, to find a favorite pattern, copy itand make some art . Painted the background with the sunny spirals. Love the inverted blue, which turns the sunny background into a starry night. The Frida ghost looks fun as well. :) Messed up the bottom part with some black permanent marker stains. So had to cover it up with some paper and used an acrylic paper scrap stamped with diamonds. Thought I’d share this fun exercise with the Wednesday Stampers since the Summer Tea Party is still going on. Of course can you also stamp you favorite patterns.
Vor ein paar Wochen hab ich diese schwarz-weiße Keramikschüssel gekauft, ma g total das Muster, besonders die Sonnenspirale. Helga hat wieder eine klasse Herausforderung die uns auffordert, ein Lieblingsmuster zu finden, es zu kopieren und etwas damit zu kreieren . Hab Sonnenspiralen gemalt. Mag mal wieder total die umgekehrte digitale Variante, die aus dem Sonnenhimmel einen Nachthimmel mit Sternen macht. Und gleich noch die Geister-Frida dazu, weil’s Spass macht. Leider hab ich mit dem Permaschreiber auf dem unteren Teil dann ein paar Kleckser drauf gemacht und somit hab ich den Teil mit Rauten-bestempeltem Acrylpapier überklebt. Da die Sommer Teeparty bei den MS noch im Gange ist, zeig ich diese schöne Übung auch dort. Natürlich kannst Du auch Dein Lieblingsmuster stempeln.
I LOVE buttons and cheered when I read the current MMM challenge yesterday. So here’s my early morning fabric dose again … After 2 1/2 hrs oriental dance last night I just fell into bed after a quick shower. Now I’m feeling better! Edge is temporary and will be finished when assembling the book pages … probably next year. *** Ich LIEBE Knöpfe und freute mich, als ich die aktuelle MMM-Herausforderung gestern las. Hier ist wieder eine Stoffdosis aus der frühen Morgenstund… Nach 2 1/2 Stunden Orienttanz gestern abend bin ich nach einer schnellen Dusche einfach nur ins Bett geplumpst. Nun geht’s mir schon wieder viel besser! Rand ist nur temporär und werden fertiggestellt, wenn ich die Buchseiten zusammenfüge … nächstes Jahr wohl.

Fabulous theme, haven’t done an ATC in forever!*** Ein bissl Stoffdosis in der frühen Morgenstund, ein Stoff-ATC-Häuschen für die aktuelle TMTA-Herausforderung. Herrliches Thema, hab schon ewig lange kein ATC mehr gemacht!
Luckily I printed a bingo sheet onto fabric the other day. So I was able to make a quick page for my fabric mini book tonight, while sewing machine and fabrics are still out! Made for the MMM “number” challenge. *** Glücklicherweise hatte ich letzt eine Bingobogen auf Stoff ausgedruckt. Somit konnte ich heute abend flott eine Seite für mein Mini-Stoffbuch machen, wenn Nähmaschine und Stoff schon draußen sind! Gemacht für die MMM “Zahlen“-Herausforderung.
I’ve had Theda on fabric, so the black & white challenge on Skinny Saturday was perfect. Gave her a new haircut and had to stick with my triple-flower hat. No glue used, just fabric, thread and beads on stabilizer. The original skinny page size is 3×6 inches, so Sarah’s 3×5 is a bit more chuncky. Love the format though and had to give it a gothic arch shape! Will be making a chunky skinny gothic fabric book from all the pages I will eventually be making … but not before next year Thanks for the inspiration Sarah. Not quite straight I just notice and I cannot locate my black aplpha beads … *** Hatte Theda bereits auf Stoff, somit ist die schwarz-weiße Herausforderung bei Skinny Saturday perfekt. Verpasste ihr einen neuen Haarschnitt und der Dreier-Blumenhut mußte auch wieder sein. Nix geklebt, nur Stoff, Garne, Perlen auf Stabilisator. Das Original-Skinny-Format ist 3×6 inch, und Sarah’s 3×5 Format ist ein bissl stämmiger. Find das Format aber klasse und mußte einen Gotikbogen draus machen! Werde dann aus allen Seiten ein Chunky Skinny Gothik-Stoffbuch machen … aber nicht vor nächstem Jahr Danke für die Inspiration Sarah. Ooops, nicht wirklich gerade fällt mir gerade auf, und die schwarzen Alpha-Perlen sind auch verschollen …

Been “fabricing”some art dolls since September. Made this ahem … rolled doll. You might remember this image and I’ll certainly be using it more, just love it (available from ARTchix Studio’s Hat’s in Bloom collage sheet). Scanned it onto a blue text background and then printed it on t-shirt transfer paper. Both art dolls (rolled and icicle below) fit well the new Australian based Mixed Media challenge blog (yes, yet another new one!) which has Vintage Women as the current theme. *** Bin seit September an einigen Art Dolls am”Stoffeln”. Hab diese ähem … gerollte Puppe gemacht. Das Motiv hast Du vielleicht schon gesehen und ich werde es sicherlich mehr benutzen, mag es total (erhältlich auf ARTchix Studio’s Hat’s in Bloom Collagebogen). Hab es auf blauen Texthintergrund gescannt und auf T-Shirt-Transferpapier ausgedruckt. Beide art dols (gerollte und Eiszäpfchen unten) passen prima zum neuen – in Australien beheimateten – Mixed Media challenge blog (jepp, und schon wieder ein neuer!) der Vintage Women als Thema hat.
For another project I made Icicle Dolls and used the same image, it just looks so cool in blue I think. Made this doll actually before the rolled one. *** Für ein anderes Projekt hab ich diese Icicle Doll (Eiszapfenpuppe) gemacht und kam nicht umhin, das gleiche Motiv zu verwenden, sieht einfach supi auf Blau aus. Hab diese Puppe eigentlich for der gerollten gemacht.
And while at art dolls, I received this most adorable Dotee doll from the talented, kind and generous Dotee Christian from Australia. Isn’t she the cutest? She should really be called Happy Dotee Doll, because you cannot help but smile when looking at it. Never seen these small birdies before!! Thanks a million Dotee. *** Und da ich beim Thema Art Dolls bin, ich hab noch diese tolle Dotee doll von der talentierten, freundlichen und großzügigen Dotee Christianaus Australien bekommen. Ist sie nicht zuckersüß? Eigentlich müßte sie Happy Dotee Doll heißen, da man bei ihrem Anblick einfach nur schmunzeln kann. Tausend Dank Dotee.
My mind … On Wednesday, while reading Michelle’s theme for GPP 13 crusadeGet Gothic – I thought what a great opportunity to make more Frida pages for my book. So I googled right away “Gothic Lolita”. I think Frida would be more a gothic lolita than just plain gothic since she loved wearing skirts and frills. This was the first link I clicked on and Morbid sounded cool … Of course I had to use these fab gothic girls! Added Frida’s face digitally. *** Meine Gedankengänge ... Am Mittwoch, als ich Michelle’s Thema für die GPP 13 crusade – Get Gothic – las, dachte ich gleich, tolle Idee, weitere Frida-Seiten für mein Buch zu machen. Hab dann gleich nach “Gothic Lolita” gegoogelt. Ich denke, dass Frida eher eine Gothic Lolita wäre. Hab dann auf diesen Link zuerst geklickt und Morbid hörte sich passend an… Natürlich mußte ich diese tollen Gotikmädels verwenden! Hab Frida’s Gesicht digital eingefügt. Erinnert mich irgendwie an Nina Hagen …
Then on Thursday I saw a woman wearing a gorgeous folkloristic brown skirt which made me think of Frida right away so here’s a Frida in autumn colors. *** Dann am Donnerstag sah ich eine Frau in einem wunderschönen braunen folkloristischen Rock und sogleich dachte ich an Frida. Hier also meine Frida in Herbstfarben.
And then this morning I read the IMT prompt which is birds. I thought I’d make some love birds (birds aren’t really my thing and I normally I just wouldn’t think of them). Added the heads digitally to Frida’s painted parrots. Thanks Michelle, Hermine and Melanie for some very fun challenges and promts!! *** Und dann las ich heute morgen den IMT-Thema Vögel. Da dachte ich, mach doch ein paar Liebesvögel (Vögel sind ja so gar nicht meins und freiwillig denke ich da nicht dran …). Hab Frida’s gemalten Papageien digital neu beköpft.

When I think of Gold, which is the new GA challenge, I cannot help but think of Klimt. You’ve come to the right place, the gold original is at the bottom. I just totally looove my digitally inverted Ice Santa Klimt! T’was a good opportunity to pull out the small rennaissance border (ARTchix Studio) which I haven’t used in a long while and the swan wings which I use a lot. *** Wenn ich an Gold denke, dass die neue GA-Herausforderung ist, muß ich einfach an Klimt denken. Du bist hier schon richtig, das goldene Original ist unten. Ich mag nur total die digital umgekehrte Eis-Santa-Klimt! War ‘ne gute Gelegenheit, mal wieder die small rennaissance border (ARTchix Studio) auszupacken, die ich schon ewig nicht mehr benutzt habe und meine oft benutzten swan wings.
