A marvelous fabric time

Spent a marvelous fabric weekend in Bad Aibling with Munich stamping gals last month. Karola owns a fabulous hotel the Schmelmer Hof where we were warmly welcomed and had our own fabric working room of course. Manja organized the retreat and Magda, a professional seamstress and clothing engineer,  introduced us to machine quilting and surface design. Belinda forgot her camera of course, snatched this pic from Manja’s blog. She’s has shared great pics here if you want to take a peak. I cannot present anything finished since I rarely finish something these days anyway. Plus I realized I need a special free stitching needle foot for  my machine, but at least it’s fixed now and makes beautiful straight stitches. 

Hab ein wunderschönes Stoffwochenende letzten Monat in Bad Aibling mit Mädels vom Müncher Stempelstammtisch erlebt. Karola besitzt ein schönes Hotel, der Schmelmer Hof , der uns herzlich begrüßt und wir unseren eigenen Stoffwerkelraum. Manja  hat das Ganze organisiert und Magda, eine Profi-Nähering und Bekleidungsingenieuring,  führte uns ins Maschinenquilten und Ssurface Design ein. Belinda hat natürlich die Kamera vergessen. Manja hat etliche Fotos auf ihrem Blog hier, sollte es Dich interessieren. Kann nix Fertiges zeigen, da Vieles irgendwie angefangen bleibt. Hatte vorort aber auch erst kapiert, dass ich noch einen speziellen Nähfuß für meine Singer-Maschine brauche. Nun denn, wenigstens näht sie nach der Reparatur wieder gerade Strich einwandfrei. Auch schon was. 

Started the above little fabric book by dying and stamping onto white fabric. Wanted to use my Stampotique images, so it will be the Stampotique Zone book! It’s simply folded together accordion style. Still a long work-in-progress, but I’m getting there and I try to add hand sewing and machine sewing. I love the newer large image, be warned though that Leeta isn’t correctly mounted (found that out the hard way!!).
Hab das obige kleine Stoffbuch dort angefangen, indem ich weißen Stoff gefärbt und bestempelt habe. Wollte meine Stampotique-Stempel verwenden, es wird also ein Stampotique Zone Buch! Es wird einfach zusammengefaltet im Leporello-Stil. Hab erst angefangen, aber etwas kann ich schon zeigen. Bemühe mich, Handgenähtes mit Maschinenstichen zu kombinieren. Mag total gerne die neuen großen Gesichter, doch Achtung, Leeta ist nicht korrekt montiert (nervig, nervig!!).

Alle mochten meine Sewzy, so haben einige spontan am aSamstag und Sonntag eine eigene genäht, Schablone gibt es hier. Schönes Gruppenfoto, oder?

Da dies ein stoffiger Beitrag ist, kann ich auch meine neuesten Stofferrungenschaften zeigen, meine neuen Kaffe Fassett-Stoffe und Gebatiktes. Also wirklich, diese Stoffe sind so herrlich – die Muster und die Farben sprechen meine Seele einfach an! Werden bald zum Einsatz kommen.

Miss Paisley has delicious dreams

 

I love the PAISLEY pattern and couldn’t resist but make 2 journal pages for the new WS challenge. Woman from Hats in bloom collage sheet. Would you believe that the gorgeous woman below – which has delicious dreams (quote from ARTchix Studio, dig it them!!) – was an artist back then?  Used one of my Indian wood printing blocks in the background.

Ich liebe das PAISLEY-Muster und konnte nicht widerstehen und hab gleich 2 Journalseiten für die neue MS-Herausforderung gemacht. Frau ist vom Hats in bloom Collagebogen. Die wunderschöne Frau oben, die köstliche Träume hat (cooler Spruch von ARTchix Studio, steh voll auf diesen Bogen!!) – war damals eine Künstlerin? Hintergrundstempel ist ein indischer Holzblockstempel.

“The lacy teardrop pattern known as paisley is Persian in origin, but its name derives from a town in southern Scotland.
Originally from the Safavid Dynasty of Persia, the floral motif known as ”buta” was adapted in India to its familiar shape and then spread to Scotland when soldiers returning from the colonies brought home cashmere shawls.
Paisley was a major site for the manufacture of printed cotton and wool in the 19th Century, according to the Paisley Museum in Scotland. Resembling a large comma, paisley is one of the most recognized patterns in the world. The pattern can be traced back more than 2,000 years.
The paisley design motif is also known as Cashmere, not to be confused with the woolen textile.From roughly 1800 to 1850, using Jacquard looms, the weavers of the town of Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland, adapted the design and wove woollen shawls, hence the design is popularly known as the Paisley pattern.”

Die spitzenartige Träne, bekannt als Paisley, kommt aus dem Persischen, doch der Name stammt von einer schottischen Stadt.
Ursprünglich kommt das florale Motif bekannt als “buta” aus der persischen Safavid Dynastie und wurde in Indien zur bekannten Form angepaßt und verbreitete sich nach Schottland, als heimkehrende Soldaten aus den Kolonien Kaschmirschals mitbrachten.
Paisley war eine wichtige Stadt für die Herstellung von bedruckter Baumwolle und Wolle im 19. Jahrhundert, laut schottischem Paisley Museum. Es ähnelnt einem Komma und kann mehr als 2000 Jahre zurückdatiert werden.

I couldn’t resist making up a grid of my favorite Kaffe Fassett paisley pattern,although I’m stretching the design a bit with his new leafs, but they fit jusst perfectly.

Konnte nicht widerstehen und hab ein Raster mit meinen Lieblingspaisleys von Kaffe Fassett-Stoffen gemacht … dehne den Begriff allerdings etwas mit seinen neuen Blättern, aber sie passen so herrlich! 

 

Mixed-Media Journal

Thought I’ll show on my blog as well and not only the ning site -  my new mixed-media art journal!! Decided to sign up for the fabulous Kelly Kilmer’s A Prompt A Day class. She’s fun and cool and I love her blog. Mucho organized classes and the perfect journal cheerleader for me! I need that. Started out with an old discarded German book cover about plants. This was the best excuse for me to use Kaffe Fassett fabrics inside and out, buttons, fibers and beads and of course a cool Goth girl from Daniel Torrente/Stampotique. FUN FUN FUN!!! Inside are signatures made of folded watercolor paper, strong enough to hold mixed-media doodads. I keep getting asked where I buy my Kaffe fabrics. Bastelkiste here in Luxembourg sells them, though most of the time I order them online from Glorious Color (best deal and smal min. sizes) and eQuilter.

Dachte ich stell’s auch auf dem Blog ein anstelle nur auf der ning-Seite -  mein neues Mixed-Media Art Journal!! Hab mich entschieden, die A Prompt A Day Klasse mit der tollen Kelly Kilmer zu machen. Sie hat Humor, ist cool und ich mag ihren Blog. Mucho organisierte Klassen und die perfekte Journal-Cheerleaderin für mich! Brauch sowas. Hab alte zerfledderte  Buchdeckel eines dt. Buches von 1947 über Pflanzen für den Bucheinband verwendet. Perfekte Ausrede, um meine Kaffe Fassett-Stoffe innen und außen einzusetzen, und natürlich Knöpfe, Bänder, Perlen und ein cooles Goth girl von Daniel Torrente/Stampotique. MACHT GUTE LAUNE!!! Innen sind gefaltete Aquarellpapierseiten, stark genug für mein Mixed-Media-Gedöns.

What a happy day!

Another fabric page in Tina’s book made for the new WS challenge “(hand)bags“.  How did I get the Daniel Torrente stamp on the fabric you might wonder? Stamped it with StazOn onto a transparency and painted the back with white acrylics (gesso would works as well). Transparencies are so versatile, love them! Tina really challenged me with her Kaffe Fassett fabric pages since it was sooo hard to cover up this fabulous fabric. Tried to keep it to a minimum. Text stamps from Turtle Press, printed with acrylics.

Eine weitere Stoffseite in Tina’s Buch gemacht für die neue MS-Herausforderung “(Hand)Taschen”. Wie hab ich den Daniel-Torrente-Stempel auf den Stoff gekriegt magst Du Dich fragen? Mit StazOn auf eine Transparentfolie gestempelt und von hinten mit weißer Acrylfarbe bemalt (weißes Gesso geht auch). Transparentfolien sind so vielseitig, liebe sie! Tina hat mich wirklich mit ihren Kaffee Fassett-Stoffseiten herausgefordert, es war sooo schwer, diesen herrlichen Stoff zu überdecken. Hab mich bemüht, es auf ein Minimum zu beschränken. Textstempel von Turtle Press, mit Acrylfarben aufgedruckt.

Fabric Heart for a pocket

Tina made a sweet fabric pocket book for our rr and used Kaffe Fassett fabrics almost everywhere. So you can imagine the colorful and whimsy play on the pages – circles galore! Finally managed to add my touches. It’s a sweet little book now ressembling more a sculpture, filled to the rim with fiber and mixed-media luv. Helga challenges us this week to make a valentine, so I thought I’ll make another thing for the pocket, a heart she could hang anywhere. L’artiste stamp from Stampers Anon. For the heart, I stamped handwritten text onto paper, painted it with beige and glued it behind the woman transparency with UHU glue stick.

Tina hat ein süßes Stoffbüchlein mit Taschen für unseren RR gemacht und dabei Kaffe Kassett-Stoffe fast überall verwendet. Kannst an dieser Doppelseite sehen, wie bunt es ist und verspielt mit all den Kreisen etc. Hab meine Seite endlich gemacht. Das Buch ähnelt mehr einer Skulptur, da die Seiten gefüllt mit Fäden und Mixed-Media-Herzlichkeit. Helga fordert und diese Woche auf einen Valentinsgruß zu machen, hab mich dann entschlossen, noch etwas für die Tasche zu machen, dass sie aber überall hinhängen kann. L’artiste-Stempel von Stampers Anon. Für das Herz hab ich einen handgeschriebenen Textstempel auf Papier gedruckt und diesen anschließend mit beiger Acrylfarbe übermalt und mit UHU-Stift hinter die Frau auf Transparentfolie geklebt.

Vintage tribal bag and more fabric

Let me tell ya, fabric heaven is so much fun!!! The other week I treated myself to the above vintage tribal bag from Gujarat/India!! For a good year I’ve been looking at one of my fave shop in Trier and finally decided to enlarge my collection of original tribal embroidered art. Would fit perfectly in the British Museum’s Fabric Folio series I features here. Needed to change the ring-connections of the straps though, so until I find some cool “rings”, I decided to attach the strap ends right to the bag. The bag is amazing and I cannot but admire the hand embroidery done all over! I opened up the lining to get a look at the hand embroidery details. Love the colors, different pattern and tazzles, all done by hand. I wonder how long it took the woman to make it? I’m speechless every time I see it. Below are details of the shoulder strap. Nomadic women often engage in making elaborate embroidery pieces while the men spend their time tending to their camels and sheep. And of course they also do wet felting in India!

Glaub mir, im Stoffhimmel ist echt was los!! Kürzlich hab ich mir dieses Vintage Tribal Tasche aus Gujarat/Indien gegönnt!! Seit gut einem Jahr hab sie immer wieder in einem meiner Lieblingsländen in Trier beschnuppert und mich endlich entschlossen, meine Sammlung von Original Tribal-Stickereien zur vergrößern. Würde prima in die Fabric-Folio-Serie- des Britischen Museums passen, von der ich hier berichtet habe. Mußte die Ringverbindungen allerdings entfernen. Bis dass ich passende “Ringe” finde, hab ich sie einfach erstmal angenäht. Die Tasche ist irre und ich kann einfach immer nur die Handarbeit bewundern. Hab das Futter gelöst, um die Details der Handstickereien von hinten besser sehen zu können. Liebe die Farben, die verschiedenen Muster und das Gebömmels, alles von Hand gemacht. Ich frage mich, wie lange die Frau daran gearbeitet hat? Bei vielen Nomadenvölkern sticken die Frauen tagsüber an diversen aufwendigen Arbeiten während die Männer sich um die Kamele und Schafe kümmern. Natürlich wird in Indien auch naßgefilzt!! Oben sind Details des Taschenträgers.

This month I did a page in Dot’s book (check out her treasure on her blog here). Her book doesn’t have a theme, so I decided for her fave color green. Wanted to use one of the new ARTchix Buttons with one of my flower hat women, so practical! But it was pure coincidence that the four-leave clover turned it into a lucky dot page. She loves birds, so I decided to hide the latter two under the green top pocket.

Diesen Monat hab ich eine Seite für Dot’s Stoffbuch gemacht (schau Dir ihr tolles Buch hier an). Ihr Buch hat kein Thema, somit hab ich mich für ihre Lieblingsfarbe grün entschieden. Einer der neuen ARTchix Buttons mit einer meiner Blumenhut-Frauen wollte ich einsetzen, halt total praktisch! Aber es war purer Zufall, dass der Kleblattbutton eine “Lucky Dot”-Seite draus machte. Sie mag total gerne Vögel, doch hab ich die beiden in der obigen “grünen” Tasche verschwinden lassen.

Of Pomegranates and Fabric Pleasures

I LOOVE POMEGRANATES!! It’s such a delicious exotic fruit and the seeds remind me of ruby gems. Bought these beautiful pomegranates fibre postcards (below) from the talented artist Dijanne Cevaal for a friend and myself. I love the pomegranate monoprints Dijanne makes herself and then overstitches with freestyle embroidery. Her pomegranate artwork is flying off the shelf, you better run and be quick. She treated me to this fabulous Barnacles fiber ATC (middle). Love it and thank you so much! I try to have one or two at home just for a snack, to add to granola, a sauce or a fruit salad. Been wanting to try them out for fabric dyeing, beware of it’s juice! Centuries ago it was also used as a natural dye. At the bottom of the post is my favorite orange salad recipe.

Ich LIIEBE GRANATÄPFEL!! Was für eine köstliche exotische Frust, die Kerne erinnern mich an rubinrote Edelsteine. Hab diese wunderschönen Granatapfel Postkarten (oben) von Dijanne Cevaal für eine Freundin und mich selbst gekauft. Ich mag total die Monoprints, die Dijanne selbst macht und dann mit Freistilmaschinestickerei überstickt. Ihre Granatapfelwerke fliegen nur so von den Regalen, mußt schnell sein, wenn Du eins willst. Hat mir noch dieses Fiber ATC (mittig) mit Seepocken dazugelegt. Mag’s total, hab vielen Dank! Ich knabbern gerne an den Kernen, mag sie mit Müsli, in einer Soße oder einem Obstsalat. wollte sie schon immer mal zum Färben verwenden, der spritzige Saft hat’s in sich. Früher wurde es wirklich zum natürlichen Färben verwendet. Ganz unten ist mein Lieblingsrezept für einen Orangensalat.

Needed to work on a few projects and decided to make my long overdue first Dotee Dolls which turned out to be in bloom. Dotee Dolls have been brought to us by Dot Christian from Australia (instructions can be found on her blog HERE). They fit perfectly into the palm of your hand and are ready for squeezing and hugging. They feel soooo soft that I didn’t want to add more beads this round. Perfect for carrying in your purse! And made Heather, another Goth Doll who is already on the way to her new home.

Orchid Green Mariposa Heather

Arbeite an einigen Projekten und hab endlich meine längst überfälligen ersten Dotee Dolls gemacht, die natürlich in voller Blüte sind. Dotee Dolls haben wir Dot Christian aus Australia zu verdanken (Anleitungen gibt’s auf ihrem Blog HERE). Diese Püppis passen prima in die Handfläche und können gleich gedrückt und umarmt werden. Sie fühlen sich sooo weich an, dass ich diesmal unten keine Perlen und Gedöns aufgestickt habe. Prima für die Handtasche! Und hab auch noch Heather, eine Goth Doll gemacht, die unterwegs in ihr neues Zuhause ist.

Got my complimentary issue of the new Art Doll quarterly Summer 2008 because they published some of my Icicle Dolls in the Show & Tell section. They wrote a wonderful article, but omitted that they were originally created as fabric ornaments for the Christmas Tree. I shared instructions in my second Icicle Doll post as a result of the feedback to the first post since they are so easy to make, and perfect for the Christmas tree. Cannot resist showing the 3 pages, the dolls look so beautiful! Thank you very much!

Hab meine Gratisausgabe der neuen Art Doll quarterly Summer 2008 erhalten, da sie einige meiner Icicle Dolls im Show & TellTeil veröffentlich haben. Sie haben einen tollen Artikel geschrieben, doch haben sie vergessen zu erwähnen, dass es ursprünglich Stoffornamente für den Weihnachtsbaum waren. Die Anleitung hab ich im 2. Beitrag eingestellt, nachdem es so vielen gefallen hat und sie ja so leicht zu machen sind und perfekte Weihnachtsdeko. Die Püppchen sehen aber toll aus, muss sie einfach zeigen! Vielen Dank!

OK, I admit the cover would never catch my attention but what’s inside is SO TERRIFIC, so much inspiration for the doll/fabric and fiber artist. My very favorite dolls come from Karen D. Milsten (above) who created awesome veggie dolls! Gotta see them gourds Patti Medaris Culea’s (below left) doll artist profile is filled with beautiful colorful and funky dolls, what a treat! And another highlight of mine are Stacy French’s Summertime Whimsies (below right)! Found spread shots from my fave articles on the magazine page. And so many more fabulous clay and fiber and whatever-not dolls in the Show & Tell section! I buy it from time to time and this is one I am so glad I did not miss!

Stampington finally seems to be catching up with fabric. After all, they started out with paper and rubber stamps. They issued a call for Softies aka stuffed artwork! Way cool. Click on the pic for details. And ADq also announced that they will be releasing an Art Quilt Studio issue as of 2009. Fabric rocks (I’m still in fabric heaven)!

Stampington scheint endlich den Anschluß zu Stoff zu finden. Immerhin haben sie mit Papier und Stempeln angefangen. Sie suchen Softies aka gefüllte Kreationen! Sehr cool. Oriental Orange Salad (4 servings)

4 oranges
1 pomegranate
50 g unsalted pistachio nuts
3 tbs apple vinegar
1 tbs brown sugar

1. Peel oranges, removing white skin. Cut into slices, removing all whites. Save orange juice.

2. Cut pomegrante in hald and carefully remove seeds, discarding all white skin. Chop pistachio nuts.

3. Mix vinegar, brown sugar and orange juice well until sugar is dissolved. Arrange oranges on a plate, garnish with pomegranate seeds and pistachio nuts. Pour on dressing.

Tip: Ideal also as a salad for a buffet. I just cut the orange wedges into small pieces. ENJOY!

Orientalischer Orangensalat (4 Personen)

4 Orangen
1 Granatapfel
50 g ungesalzene Pistazienkerne
3 El Apfelessig
1 El brauner Zucker

1. Orangenschale inkl. weißer Haut schälen. Fruchtfleisch in Scheiben schneiden. Inneren weißen Strunk entfernen. Saft auffangen.

2. Granatapfel halbieren und Kerne sorgfältig aus der Schale lösen, dabei weißen Häute entfernen. Pistazien grob hacken.

3. Essig, Zucker und aufgefangenen Orangensaft gut mischen, bis Zucker aufgelöst ist. Orangenscheiben auf einer Platte anrichten, mit Granatapfelkernen und Pistazien garnieren. Dressing darüber geben.

Tipp: Geht auch prima als Buffetsalat, dazu schneid ich die Orangen gleich in mundgerechte Stücke. Guten Appetitt!

Frida Mariposa and some fabric tips

Look what I caught sitting on a flower in my garden, a Frida Mariposa (butterfly) Icicle Doll. It’s often a challenge to incorporate rubberstamps into fabric art. Here I stamped the wing (Tin Can Mail) onto a transparency and added some glitter. Another entry for the WS In my Garden challenge. Mexican paper flowers are from ARTchix Studio. *** Schau mal, was ich in meinem Garten sitzend auf einer Blume, entdeckt habe, ein Frida Mariposa (Schmetterling) Icicle Doll. Es ist oft eine Herausforderung, Stempel bei Stoff einzusetzen. Hier hab ich den Flügel (Tin Can Mail) auf Overheadfolie gestempelt und Glitter aufgetragen. Ein weiterer Beitrag für die MS In meinem Garten-Herausfrderung. Mexikanische Papierblumen sind von ARTchix Studio.

In December I read on several blogs and in emails that they don’t have fabric images to make Icicle Dolls. I made some using various (ARTchix Studio) supplies which I’m sure you’ll have at least one of at home. Full instructions can be found HERE. More ideas for placing images onto may be dominoes, poker chips, buttons, etc. Why not attach them with safety pins? Have a look at your art supplies and you’ll surely find lots of more ideas! *** Im Dezember hatte ich auf etlichen Blogs und in Emails gelesen, dass sie keine Stoffmotive für Icicle Dolls haben. Ich hab einige mit verschiedenen ARTchix Studio) Produkten gemacht und bin mir sicher, dass Du mind. eins davon zuhause hast. Genaue Anleitungen gibt’s HIER (nur Englisch). Weitere Ideen wären Dominos, Pokerchips, Buttons, Knöpfe, etc. Warum befestigst Du es nicht mit Sicherheitsnadeln? Schau Dir einfach mal Deine Zubehör an und dann wirst Du sicherlich viele weitere Ideen finden!

Peek-a-boo

I feel like I’m in FABRIC HEAVEN and Kaffe Fassett is right with me!!! You cannot imagine how much fun I am having playing with fabric and thread and beads and buttons. Made a fabric softie book for the Round Robin, this time no stabilizer. The feeling you get when holding such a soft book in your hands is so unique, fabulous and just sensuous. For some reason Kaffe’s fabrics always put me in such a happy and even giggly mood. A sister-in-law refers to many of his pattern as children fabrics, maybe that’s why? Bringing out the kid in me. Laughing feels so good! Finally an addiction that is good for my health (ok, maybe not for my bank account hehe)! Recognize Gretchen, the scrappy gal? She is peeking through my fabric book. I like things to hang out and down, so this is just perfect. The theme of the RR is “Hidden Treasures“. There will be hidden things on the pages, but that wasn’t enough for me. So I thought I’d create an ordinary book format from the outside, but when you open it up, there will be lots of various shaped pages. The first one I created wasn’t planned, the yummy “red paisley jungle“ fabric guided me to a – you probably guessed it already – gothic arch shape!!! Gretchen’s home is an arrow page, a shape I really like. And the arrow goes overboard and peeks out of the book as well. This book will travel the globe to 9 different destinations in the US, Canada, Australia, Germany and then in 10 months hopefully find it’s way back home to me. Filled with yummy fabric pages created from 10 wonderful and talented women. OK, I admit I am nervous and hope it will travel safely. Wouldn’t I love to be travelling along, so instead I wanted Gretchen to have the trip of her lifetime!!! And the pleasure meeting faraway creative friends and acquaintances. How exciting that she gets to visit with each and every one and spend some time with them. I am so happy for her and cannot wait for her to return and tell me about her adventurous journey. Gretchen cannot wait to share a “charming” treasure with all the fabric friends working in my book.

Ich fühle mich, als wäre ich im STOFFHIMMEL und Kaffe Fassett ist mit dabei!!! Du kannst Dir nicht vorstellen, wieviel Spass ich habe, mit Stoff und Stickgarn und Perlen und Knöpfen zu spielen. Hab ein ein Softie-Stoffbuch für das Round Robin gemacht, dieses Mal ohne Stabilisator. Das Gefühl, ein solch weiches Buch in den Händen zu halten ist einzigartig, herrlich und einfach sinnlich. Aus irgendeinem Grund machen mich Kaffe’s Stoffe immer glücklich und versetzen mich sogar in eine Kicherstimmung. Eine Schwägerin bezeichnet etliche seiner Muster immer als Kinderstoffe, vielleicht deshalb? Sie bringen das Kind in mir zum Vorschein. Lachen tut so gut!! Endlich mal eine Sucht, die der Gesundheit nicht schadet (ok, vielleicht nicht zu gut für mein Bankkonto hehe)! Erkennst Du Gretchen, das Scrappy Gal (Reste-Mädel)? Sie lunzt oben durch mein Stoffbuch. Ich mags, wenn Dinge runter- und raushängen, somit war dies perfekt. Das Thema des RR ist “Versteckte Schätze“. Auf jeder Seite wird es also etwas Verstecktes geben. Und um das Ganze noch etwas Interessanter zu gestalten, hab ich ein gewöhnliches äußeres Buchformat gewählt, doch wenn Du es aufmachst, wird es verschiedene Buchseitenformate haben. Die erste, die ich gemacht habe war nicht geplant, der herrliche “rote Paisley Jungle“ Stoff hat mich – Du ahnst es wohl schon – zu einem Gotikbogenformat geführt!! Gretchen’s Zuhause ist eine Pfeil-Seite, eine Form, die ich total gerne mag. Natürlich ist der Pfeil zu groß und schaut seitlich aus dem Buch hervor. Dieses Buch wird den Globus umreisen und an 9 verschiedenen Orten in den USA, Kanada, Australien und Deutschlang Stops einlegen und dann zu mir zurückkehren. Gefüllt mit herrlichen Stoffseiten hergestellt von wunderbar kreativen und talentierten Frauen. OK, ich gebe zu, dass ich etwas nervös bin und hoffe, dass es sicher reist. Würde nur zu gerne mitreisen, deshalb wollte ich, dass Gretchen die Reise ihres Lebens hat!!! Und das Vergnügen weitentfernte kreative Bekannte und Freundinnen kennenzulernen. Wie aufregend, dass sie jede einzelne besuchen kann und Zeit mit ihnen verbrignen darf. Ich freue mich total für sie und kann es nicht erwarten dass sie zurückkehrt und mir alles von ihrer abenteuerlichen Reise erzählt. Gretchen freut sich total, dass sie auch für jedes der Mädel einen “charming” Schatz als Geschenk bereit hält.

Scrappy Valentine Gals

Here it is approaching again – Valentine’s Day. Made these Scrappy Valentine Gals – Flo, Gretchen and Suzi – for the new WS Valentine challenge. I’m busy “fabric”ing and somehow these hearty gals just evolved. I really enjoyed making them!! Face stamp from Invoke Arts and arms, legs from Zettiology. Believe it or not, but I only have ONE fabric scrap bag. But then again my fabric looks holey like this, carefully cutting everything out, so not much leftovers. Thanks for a real fun challenge Tina. I’ll also be teaching a Scrappy Gal workshop at southern Germany’s stamp convention “Stempelmesse Süd” on 5/6 April for the Stempeloase booth. May these gals be spreading much luv this week!!

Bin ja fleißig am Stoffeln, und so sind diese herzigen Mädels irgendwie entstanden. Es hat wirklich Spass gemacht!! Gesichtstempel von Invoke Arts und Arme, Beine von Zettiology. Ob Du es glaubst oder nicht, ich hab nur diese EINE Stoffrestetüte. Kein Wunder, denn so durchlöchert sehen viele meiner Stoffstücke aus, da gibt’s wenig Reste. Danke für eine wirklich tolle Herausforderung Tina! Ich werde auch einen Scrappy Gal Workshop bei der Stempelmesse Süd am 5./6. April am Stempeloase-Stand geben. Mögen die Mädels viel herzige Stimmung diese Woche verbreiten!!
